CQMRG is pleased to announce that our next site visit will be on 26/27 November 2026 at Peabody's Coppabella Mine with the accompanying workshop to be held at Coppabella Mine Pre-Start Room.
Coppabella Mine is a large open-cut PCI coal mine located about 40 minutes east of Moranbah in the Bowen Basin region. The mine is operated by the Coppabella Moorvale Joint Venture.
On Thursday 26th Nov, registration will be from 11 am to allow for Visitor Inductions at the security checkpoint (allow about 5-10 minutes per person). The workshop commences at 12 noon. From 5pm, workshop attendees are welcome to travel over to the Coppabella Civeo HUB Bar & Tavern for drinks and dinner (at own cost) from 5:30pm.
A limited number of camp rooms are available at the Coppabella Civeo Camp via CQMRG at $50 per room. Please use registration ticket type 3 or 4 if you need a room. Alternatively, Moranbah or Nebo have accommodation.

The Bus Tour will depart from Coppabella Civeo Camp at 7am Friday 27th November.

As usual, numbers will be limited and a current CQMRG membership will be required to register; there will be a modest cost to cover expenses.
